THE YARD Radio Show, a subsidiary of Shalimar Media Group, LLC, (SMG) has been an innovator in college radio programming, news and entertainment since 2004.
Students are able to voice their opinions on issues that are important to them with our innovative, hour long, talk-radio format. THE YARD is pop culture for college students. We broadcast live from Hampton University on Wednesday nights at 10pm & from the Atlanta University on Thursday’s at 9pm. Both markets can be streamed live via theyardradio.com. Each episode is packed with interviews from campus news makers and celebrity guests.
We reach our audience through various mediums: live radio broadcast, internet stream, social media and our acclaimed web series the YARD GREEN CARPET EVENTS (YGCE). The YGCE acts as the official welcoming committee for the most exciting on campus events. Event producers are entitled to a “red carpet” experience. Guests are interviewed, photographs are snapped and coverage of the event is crossed promoted on The Yard Radio Show.
This successful web series launched September 2007 and is filmed in all markets covered by THE YARD Radio Show. The video packages run for 3-7mins and consistently increase event turnout and atmosphere.
THE YARD is ever expanding. Since the inception of the show, we’ve supported college creatives, Musicians, Filmmakers, Clothing designers, and Campus business owners. They have all been featured guests on our program. We always look for ways to feature projects that meet our vision: Keep students enchanted with the college experience. During our 2010 season we launched the COLLEGESTOCK Brand. This new division of SMG is housed with THE YARD Radio Show and includes concerts, comedy shows and a Film Festival. The winning films are distributed to college and university movie theaters throughout the southeast. We also partnered with INDIEPIX Films to distribute the projects digitally.
Today, Shalimar Media Group is a producer of targeted, multi-platform content for global distribution. Our goal is to create and manage some of the world’s most interesting and niche media brands.
